Scenes from my Dreams

Notes: I recently made some canvas art with "dream" written on it and hung it next to my bed as a morning reminder. I actually think it's help with dream recall. The Dream: I was in some sort of small restaurant, it was built in the center of a movie theater. The wings to each movie screening were around the restaurant, so if you stood in the middle and turned around, you'd see double doors in all directions. There was a bar area in the center, where I was standing when my friend/co-worker, Daniel, walked up to me as if he was meeting me. A woman bartender came up to us and asked what kind of menu we wanted. I looked and Daniel silently as if asking him if he wanted food or not and he said, "I'd rather eat after the movie." I wanted to eat at that moment, but I said, "Okay." and went along with it anyway. Instead, I tried to order a drink, asking for a "Dirty Shirley." Notes: The Butcher Babies have been interactive with me on social media lately and I wonder if seeing a notification from them before falling asleep influenced this one at all. Foods eaten: Quesadillas The Dream: ...There was context prior but my memory isn't sharp on what it was...  I was sitting outside at a picnic table - there was a group of picnic tables, maybe six of them together. It must've been a pool party or BBQ of sorts, people were in bathing suits and towels. Heidi of the Butcher Babies was dancing around on top of the picnic tables, bouncing from one to the next. I also recall the guitarist, Henry, being there. I vaguely remember someone offering me a can of coke to drink, and me accepting after some argument and discussion, insisting that I don't drink soda. At some point, I needed to use the restroom. I don't recall walking there, I just remember being in a very elegant mansion that I just knew belonged to one of my family's longtime friend...

Notes: I actually remember this dream being a lot longer and more detailed, but memory didn't serve as to what those details were. Foods Eaten: Taco Salad (lunch), Pretzels The Dream: I was standing in a well kept gravel driveway. It was outside a small house with strangely beautiful landscaping. I was standing next to a black car, and my old family friend Kathryn Wilson was across from me. I'm not sure why, but I remember taking a pair of shoes from her... There must have been some sort of transition before this next piece? I ended up inside of a house, it was a downstairs that had a brownish color scheme to it, and the walls and flooring were wood paneling. I don't remember much, just that Richard was there and he had gotten Erin, his significant other, pregnant. For some reason, I remember making fun of him about how he was always getting girls knocked up, even though I don't think he ever has...

Notes: When I woke up, I remembered a strangely large amount of detail from this dream. It was definitely one of my more vivid ones in a while, unfortunately I seem to have forgotten a bit of it since I failed to quickly transpose it. Foods Eaten: Chicken and broccoli Alfredo Dream Location: A very large and upscale version of our family friend, Lynn Wilson's house. The Dream: I don't remember where it started... but I was walking down a vast hallway. The ceilings were extremely high... something you would see in a castle. Everything seemed so elegant, the doorways were mahogany and nearly the height of the ceiling, and curved and pointed at the top... like what you might see on a church. The walls were half paneled and half covered in a tan and brown scroll patterned wallpaper. One of the doors to my left opened, and looking inside I saw a black and white tiled floor with restaurant tables and waiters walking around the room. There was a busboy collecting dis...

Notes: This one was weird, like I was lucid without actually being lucid... Foods Eaten: Mashed Potatoes & Ribs Dream Location: My House and Some Restaurant The Dream: I was at my house, all was relatively normal looking. My parents were hanging out in the kitchen, I don't specifically recall my sister being there. I don't remember what conversation was going on, but my parents ended up getting into a fight. My mom was physically hurting my dad, slapping him and pushing him. I eventually stepped in, yelling at my mother to stop. Both my mom and dad resigned themselves from each other, glaring past me in furious anger, but allowing me to speak. I took most of my frustration with them out on my mother, yelling at her about how different she's been since her surgery last year (long story short out of dreamworld - she had a brain tumor). I told her that all of her personality traits had been emphasized, especially her stubbornness and attitude. She didn't respond...

Notes: What I remember is vague. Foods Eaten: Probably eggnog or a cookie. Dream Location: Skewed version of family friend John Coffey's House The Dream: I was at my family's close friend, John Coffey's house. The house wasn't really a house, but more like a stand alone apartment. Maybe a townhouse. I remember John and his wife, Ting, were in the process of selling the house, but it was really gross. The carpets and walls were filthy. I remember walking into the bathroom, then sitting on the toilet. I was wearing all my clothes, and wasn't actually trying to use the bathroom, I was just sitting on the seat. An unidentifiable friend of mine came in the room, which surprised me. I remember talking to them for a minute, then running out the door. I remember something else about opening a garage door, but I don't remember what that was about either...

Notes: This is some continuation of yesterday's scatter-brain-ism. There was some sort of plot in the dream, but it didn't make it to my memory. Foods Eaten: Buffalo Chicken with Bleu Cheese Sammich Dream Location: A unfamiliar neighborhood, unfamiliar body of water, and my house The Dream: I was in a moving vehicle (I'm not sure if it was a car or what, and no idea if there was someone driving it) . My buddy from high school, Matt (aka Penguin) , was in the car with me, along with another unidentified person. I distinctly remember driving down a hill in an unfamiliar neighborhood. It had recently snowed, the roads in the neighborhood had none stuck to them, but all the lawns of the houses were blanketed in snow. We drove outside the neighborhood, and I specifically remember taking a right turn. We went down another hill, but I looked behind us, and at the top of the hill was a very fancy looking house. I saw someone behind the house somehow making a vertical snow...

Notes: Finally had an excessively vivid and detailed dream. Foods Eaten: Eggnog Dream Location: It was at a sort of strip mall, outside. Lots of stores. The thing that seemed most out of place in hindsight was that there was a stadium attached to the strip mall... with a regular sort of store entrance. The Dream: I was at CVS with my dad. I'm not totally sure why I was there, but I knew my dad was dropping me of at a UNC basketball game after we left. I also knew that the stadium where the basketball game was at was right next to the CVS. My dad asked me if I was ready to go, I told him to hold on a second. I was walking through the aisles until I got to the back of the store and noticed that they had a relatively nice looking buffet bar. There was tons of food, but I was suddenly looking specifically for yogurt, which was conveniently lined against the back of the buffet. I picked up a cup of cherry flavor, and promptly told my dad I was ready. When we left the store, m...

Notes: There was actually a technical name for this party that my friend used to call it in the dream, though I can't remember what it was now... Foods Eaten: Buffalo Wings (with ranch) Dream Location: My old bedroom, an unidentified restaurant, and an unidentified house The Dream: This is another one I don't remember a lot of, just specific parts. I know I was in an unidentified restaurant at some point, and I was playing with a new iPod. Dream relocated itself to one of my old bedrooms in my house, except it was laid out slightly different. My coworker (Granger again... why do I keep dreaming about her?) was there, I told her she could lay in one of the twin beds, I would take the queen. She said that was fine and asked if I wanted to go to a midnight party. I asked her what it was (but I can't recall the answer) - I ended up agreeing to go. I'm not sure if we slept or if we ended up going straight to the party, but when I got there, I had brought what loo...

Notes: While writing down one of my more recent dreams, this one popped into my memory. I have no idea when I actually dreamt it, but it was a while ago. Dream Location: Family Friend's House The Dream: I was at our close family friend, Lynn Wilson's, house (it was nothing like her house actually is). One of her daughters/my old friend, Rachel was there, with her best friend, Lisa Mette. My best friend, Mary, was also there. I remember Mary and I were upstairs, everyone else was downstairs. Lynn was downstairs in the kitchen, talking on the phone. I decided to take a shower, and when I got out, there was a shirt that wasn't mine, laying on the floor. The shirt looked familiar, I recognized it as one of my sisters, so I picked it up and put it on. I have no idea what triggered this memory, or what else happened.
