The Copy Machine

Notes: This was surely induced by sleeping in the actual bed after sleeping on the couch for a week or two straight. The Dream: I was laying on the floor of a room that I'm pretty sure was indoors and carpeted. My old coworker Robyn was there with my coworker Stephanie, and they were discussing things completely unrelated to me. Stephanie had a notebook crammed full of papers, and as Robyn was asking Stephanie questions, the pages in the notebook were flipping like a gust of wind was blowing them to the next page. I moved toward the notebook and began flipping through the pages myself. Each page had a concert photo in the center of it with a paragraph or so of text above it. At first, the photos looked like they were taken from a cell phone. Simple photos from the crowd at low quality, but as I flipped through them they improved in quality, though were consistently a full stage shot with the crowd in them, taken from the back of a venue. I remember seeing my photography friend Jen...

Movie and a Walk

Notes: I recently made some canvas art with "dream" written on it and hung it next to my bed as a morning reminder. I actually think it's help with dream recall. The Dream: I was in some sort of small restaurant, it was built in the center of a movie theater. The wings to each movie screening were around the restaurant, so if you stood in the middle and turned around, you'd see double doors in all directions. There was a bar area in the center, where I was standing when my friend/co-worker, Daniel, walked up to me as if he was meeting me. A woman bartender came up to us and asked what kind of menu we wanted. I looked and Daniel silently as if asking him if he wanted food or not and he said, "I'd rather eat after the movie." I wanted to eat at that moment, but I said, "Okay." and went along with it anyway. Instead, I tried to order a drink, asking for a "Dirty Shirley." The woman looked at me annoyed and confused and asked what was ...

Two Moons

Notes: Active brain last night, don't quite recall what connected where. The Dream: ..I was in a room, sitting on a bed. Unsure who's room, but it seemed like a hotel room layout. The bed was a double and there was a second double bed to the right, and a mini-kitchen past that with counters along the far wall. I was wearing a wedding ring, but after having a conversation with my dad, I took the ring off and threw it in a nearby trash can. It didn't seem to be a sentimental or emotional moment. At some point I ended up with another wedding ring on and Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch walked in the room to tell me that the person I had just married had died. I removed the ring and threw it in the trash, as well, proclaiming that it must not have been meant to be. -- (I woke up, shared the briefs of that dream with Trevor, then fell back asleep after he left for work.) I was driving in a bright yellow Challenger on an interstate. It was at night and another car w...

The Wormhole

Notes: I'm beginning to think I suffer from mild depersonalization disorder, and every now and then I will have one of those days or moments of symptoms. Yesterday, my drive home from work randomly spurred one of those moments. For some reason, I suddenly felt as if I had fallen asleep while driving - crashed my car - and was either now living in some alternate reality where I HADN'T crashed my car, but I was dead in some parallel universe OR I was in a coma and dreaming about what would be happening if I hadn't crashed my car. It's a weird sensation, because even though you are completely aware that you are still alive and in reality, everything has a surreal feeling to it. So when I got home, I immediately went to be (6:30pm) to sleep the feeling away. The Dream: I was in my living room with my boss Casey and coworker Nadia. Nadia got a phone call from a member of the band Black Stone Cherry, who she was apparently in a relationship with. She walked out my backdoor...

Ditched Work for Mark Tremonti

Notes: Very random celebrity appearance. I must be excited for his new album? Foods Eaten: Salad, a few rum and cokes The Dream: I was at my office, in a room with my boss and coworker, Nadia. I recall asking permission to take an extended lunch hour, which my boss was fine with. I somehow ended up sitting in my car in a parking lot outside of a mall. Mark Tremonti (guitarist for Alter Bridge/Creed) was now in my passenger seat. There seems to be a large gap in my memory but this is what I can recall... It had gotten late, and I'd forgotten about work until I got a text message from my boss that read something like, "When are you coming back? There's a lot to do and I'm really stressed out..." I replied to her with a lie of, "Sorry! We are on the way." But at that point,  Mark got out of my car and turned his attention to a crappy white car parked next to me - which was apparently his car. It was having troubles starting, and he had the hood up ...

She Got Knocked Up

Notes: I actually remember this dream being a lot longer and more detailed, but memory didn't serve as to what those details were. Foods Eaten: Taco Salad (lunch), Pretzels The Dream: I was standing in a well kept gravel driveway. It was outside a small house with strangely beautiful landscaping. I was standing next to a black car, and my old family friend Kathryn Wilson was across from me. I'm not sure why, but I remember taking a pair of shoes from her... There must have been some sort of transition before this next piece? I ended up inside of a house, it was a downstairs that had a brownish color scheme to it, and the walls and flooring were wood paneling. I don't remember much, just that Richard was there and he had gotten Erin, his significant other, pregnant. For some reason, I remember making fun of him about how he was always getting girls knocked up, even though I don't think he ever has...

Jingle Bells

Notes: This was probably the most interesting dream I've had in a while... been slacking in the dreamer department. The day before this dream, there was some solar flare hitting the Earth, and I'm pretty sure that had something to do with the first part of this dream. The Dream: I was walking around a mall with a couple of my coworkers. We turned into what I think was a Spencer's gift store. There were a myriad of items, notably books, posters, wrist bands, etc. - all about solar flares. Those items were being showcased on a table that was positioned directly under a window. It seemed we all came to the sudden realization that there was actually a solar flare happening at that very moment. Stupidly, we all looked out the window and directly into the sun, curious if there was anyway to actually see something "different" happening on the sun during a solar flare... but as usually expected, we only got momentarily blinded by it. There was some sort of transition...

Coworker Crushing

Notes: Uh.. yeah. Foods Eaten: Pizza Dream Location: In Front of my computer? The Dream: I'm not sure what all was going on, I just remember I was sitting at a computer - probably mine. I was on an instant messenger, when my coworker, Travis, randomly messaged me. I expected the message to be work related, but instead he was attempting to hit on me.

Internal Bleeding, Crazy Driving, Megan and Powderpuff

Notes: So the night before last, I took a B-vitamin, drank orange juice, and ate a banana - all which are supposedly helpful inducing lucid dreams and dream recall. In case you didn't notice, yesterday I didn't remember having a single dream, much less lucid. However I definitely had one that was all over the place last night! Foods Eaten: Greek Salad, Ice cream Dream Location: Some sort of apartment room, in a car, a downtown somewhere... The Dream: For some reason, my first memory is inside of a sort of distraught disheveled room. The carpet was a murky brown color, and it had that really fuzzy shag texture. The walls were a lighter sort of brown, and they were paneled. There was an ugly sofa in the room. My parents were sitting on it. I'm not totally sure what the situation was, but I seem to recall accidentally pushing my dad or leaning on him and him responding in pain. I asked what was wrong, and he said, "Internal bleeding around my chest." I asked ...

Arrested

Notes: ... Foods Eaten: Spaghetti Dream Location: Airport, Car The Dream: I am in a large building, which I just know is an airport. I am with a handful of friends, including TJ and Tana - there were more, but I don't know who else. We were walking  through the airport at a leisurely pace, when suddenly my phone rang. I answered it, and it was an old freelance client of mine, Linda. I told my friends to hang on one second, and proceeded to walk to a quiet nearby corner in the airport. Over the phone, Linda wanted to know if I would like a job as an art sales representative. I tried to explain to her that I already had a full time job and wasn't really interested in a sales job, but I was being too nice about it and not getting the point across. I could see my friends getting impatient with me taking too long on the phone, so I waved at them to signal they could move on and I'd catch up in a minute. I ended up telling Linda that I was too busy for another job and I...

Tornado Game

Notes: I'm going to attribute the fact that it was stormy out last night to this one... Foods Eaten: Steak Dream Location: Outside, but no where identifiable. The Dream: I was outside in a field, it was extremely windy and there were tons of clouds. I immediately started looking for signs of a tornado (whenever it storms, part of me hopes to see a tornado) . I wandered aimlessly around the field for a few minutes, until I suddenly saw a small tunnel of clouds drop only a couple yards in front of me. I decided it was probably a good time to go. I turned my back to the tornado and bolted towards nothing in particular. Fortunately, I found a small, round hut to take shelter in... Upon entering the hut, I found TJ, Casey, Alex, and Robyn chatting to each other. None seemed to be aware of the tornado that appeared to be following me. In a slight panic, I informed them and directed everyone to get down in that strange position they teach your to hide in during tornado drills ...

The Laundry Movie

Notes: So I've had the flu the past couple days and been getting tons of extra sleep because of it, which has started to build back my dream memory somewhat... Foods Eaten: Tea? Dream Location: Some house or building or something. The Dream: My memory starts at me being in a room, it is in an old building or house... very rickety in structure. Everything is made of wooden planks that look worn and creek whenever you walked on them. There was a washing machine and drier in the back right of the room. There were two beds towards the middle, with two doors exiting the room, one on the front wall and one on the left wall. It seemed I had an objective of taking pictures of some clothing on top of the washer and drier in the room. I opened up the drier and an assortment of clothes and towels fell out, which I promptly arranged on top of the washer in a fashion I thought would make for a nice photo. I pulled a fancy camera out of nowhere, and was about to start taking photos of...

Murderous Car

Notes: ... Foods Eaten: Mashed Potatoes & Ribs Dream Location: Not fully sure, inside a car at some point The Dream: I don't remember much in particular about this dream. I know the my co-worker Dan and his wife Lynn were there, and two of "his" kids were there - but the two kids were actually my cousins Mary Anne and Nate. At some point, we were in a car. Dan was driving, his wife in the passenger seat. I was in the middle of the back seat, with Mary Anne to my left and Nate to my right. I think we were trying to run away from something... like the end of the world maybe. I remember we stopped somewhere, everyone got out of the car. I think we were camping for a night. I'm not sure why, maybe I dropped something, but I ended up having to crawl underneath the car for whatever reason. When I got underneath it, the car started lowering itself, trapping me under it and then sealing itself to the road. I was struggling to find a way out, with no luck... a...

Panera and Interactive Menus

Notes: This dream was actually sort of creative. Foods Eaten: Eggnog Dream Location: In a quaint sort of neighborhood The Dream: I was walking with my boyfriend along a sidewalk in a very typical American sort of neighborhood. The houses were small and cute, all white wood paneled, with the white picket fence in front. Most of the people that lived in the houses were outdoors doing lawn work, whether it be watering and/or planting flowers, or mowing the grass. Each house also had a street sign in front of it, and on the metal pole attached to the sign, were some sort of indescribable object. I knew that the objects were some sort of prank, and if you touched or activated it, there was also a hose attached to the pole, that would shoot water at you. My boyfriend and I had been joined by my co-workers, Alex, Casey, and Leila. I warned them all to not touch the objects attached to the street signs. We all laughed about them being prank jokes. We ended up walking through a very lu...

Scatterbrain

Notes: Another scatter-brained dream. Foods Eaten: Fruit Smoothie Dream Location: No where recognizable. The Dream: (I'm just going to write paragraphs for each of these, because I can't seem to recall the sequence of events. They all just seem like mismatched ideas.) I'm in a family room with my dad. Apparently, I'd collected some loose change and dollar bills from around the house and asked him to deposit them into the bank for me. But he said he counted the money I gave him and it didn't add up right, he said there was some missing from a box. He started making accusations of someone stealing the money from me. (I'm not sure how this makes sense in hindsight,) but I told him that I had added the money from the box to the entire total. He accepted that as fact and said it all added up right after that. I'm riding a horse down a street, it's dark out. I don't seem to have an objective, but I get to a cul-de-sac where my sister is standi...

Drinking with Monsters

Notes: My memory of this dream is interesting. I remember tons of pieces of the dream, but I seem to not remember the parts that would piece it together. So it seems just like a bunch of random, separate thoughts. Foods Eaten: Eggnog Dream Location: Boyfriend's basement, some sort of Tavern, a hotel room? The Dream:  I was sitting on a couch in my boyfriend's basement. He was sitting next to me. I felt crappy, I was stuffed up and sneezing. I knew I had a cold... I'm in a tavern of some sort. It's a party, I guess. My boss is there and a handful of other people that I couldn't put a name to. I have a drink or two, and begin dancing on the table we were sitting at. After my dance, I promptly rush myself out the door and head back to my boyfriend's house, worrying the whole time that he will think I am wasted. But now I'm watching some girl in a hotel room. She is sitting on the bed, and she has a kid with her. I'm not sure if it's her kid,...

All Over the Pretty Mountain

Notes: This was the most vivid dream I've recalled having in a couple days. I had one the day before this, but I forgot to update and that dream has now been sucked into the memory void. Foods Eaten: Salad and Onion Soup Dream Location: It was on some sort of gorgeous mountain, I remember it with great detail. It was tree-less, but covered in brilliant green grass, except for the snow-capped top. The Dream: I was standing next to a path that leads to a creek in my backyard. I was with a couple of my relatives (though I don't remember which ones specifically), we were waiting for my parents. Apparently they were on a bike ride, because we were only paying attention to people that biked past on the path, announcing "not them" as each one passed. After a few moments, I finally see my mom and dad on the path in the distance. They talked to each other for a minute, but it was odd. I could see my mom as two people, they both looked exactly the same, but they represe...

Can't Catch a Break II

Notes: Grrr... another work dream? Foods Eaten: Enchilada, Quesedilla Dream Location: Not a clue The Dream: I was on my way to a meeting with my coworker, Alex. I had a sketch of a redesign for a page of our company's website that I was working on, Alex was going to give me some feedback and tell me what he needed on the page. We were meeting at some restaurant, I was apparently walking there. To the left of the sidewalk I was on, there was a huge/tall fence, holding back hundreds of people. They were holding signs, and rallying (I presume this was some leftovers in my head from going to Jon Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear in DC on Saturday) . When I got to the restaurant, it was just a bunch of picnic tables with waitress walking around. I sat down at one of them to wait for Alex, and this girl I barely know, Jessica, walks up to my table and sits down. She immediately started jibber-jabbering away at me, though I was mostly ignoring her. I noticed she...

Mushrooms to Restore Sanity

Notes: This dream was pretty funny. I was carpooling with 5 other people up to DC to go to Jon Stewart/Steven Colbert's Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear. We left at around 4:00 am, so I was dead tired... fell asleep on the way up. Foods Eaten: Muffin Dream Location: Inside a car The Dream: I was laying on my boyfriend's lap, in the backseat of a large car. Mike and Craig were in front of me, Alex was driving and Casey was in the front passenger seat. (This is actually how we were all sitting in the car, too). I had just woken up from a nap, and was thirsty. Casey passed a glass of grape juice to Mike, who then poured a bag of Shrooms into the glass (this happened without my noticing in the dream, even though I saw it happen. Hard to explain?). Mike passed the glass of juice back to me, which I quickly drank all of. I started drifting back to sleep, but suddenly started feeling very strange. I quickly recognized the feeling as the body high of mushrooms. I sat straigh...

Can't Catch A Break

Notes: Ugh, I hate these kinds of dreams. Foods Eaten: Wild Carolina BBQ Wings Dream Location: In my bed The Dream: I was laying in bed when my phone rang. I answered it, and it was my boss. I remember her specifically asking me to make a change to the coding of our website's search area on the homepage, and I had to explain to her how the page was set up and why I couldn't change it until last minute. That's all I can remember, but it sucks when you wake up by alarm clock and have to go to work and deal with those kinds of questions and explanations all day.
