Don't Eat Reese's Before Bed

Very often, the first thing that will come out of Derek's mouth in the morning is some nonsense that turns into a crazy dream plot, which in turn refreshes my dream memory. Last night, we both had some strange ones - to the point that we gave up on sleep... Foods Eaten: The last thing we ate before going to bed was this Reese's peanut butter bar dessert thing. I blame the peanut butter for the dreams that ensued. The Dream: I was sitting in my own living room, on my own computer. Derek was next to me, also on his computer. We were each doing our usual thing - game playing and internet browsing, and it appeared to be sometime late in the evening. I decided it was time to go to bed, and announced so to Derek. We both went upstairs, but upon reaching the top of the steps he pushed me to the ground in front of our washer and dryer. As I laid on my back, I looked up just in time to watch Derek slam his fist into my face, punching all my teeth out. Suddenly realizing I was dre...

The Hall

The Dream: I was standing in a hall with a guy figure that I could not see in detail, but I knew was not my fiance. Though I don't directly recall it, my brain wants to say  he was "holding" me in a romantic manner. The guy gently took my hand and walked me up to an elegant bar down the hall. He took a seat at a bar stool, and I sat down next to him, noticing that his figure now looked like a real life version of the cartoon character Cyril from TV show "Archer". Though there were no other physical interactions with him, our togetherness was assumed to be a date. My phone was now sitting on the bar counter, and it vibrating gently, signifying a text message. I opened the message, and it was from my mom. The text read, "Is his [presumably referring to the guy I was with] car at the house?" I gave the question a significant moment of though before coming to the conclusion that we had driven "his" car, so I responded with an nondescript, ...

Chaotic Scavenger Chase

Notes: I feel like I've been having some intensely long, random dreams recently. It's kind of weird. Especially given that I'm remembering them so well. The Dream:  I was in a large room, with numerous other unidentified people around. We were about to start some sort of game. I seemed to understand what I was doing in dream state, but now that I'm awake I have no idea what the rules or objective were - I can only assume it was akin to a scavenger hunt. I headed out of the room, which lead directly onto an outdoor cement sidewalk. It seemed like it was on a college campus. I followed the sidewalk, which lead down a slight hill into an area heavily shaded by large trees. I continued following the path, until I was lead right into a house. I automatically knew my way around the house (though I cannot relate to it in waking world) . My sister and mother were there, and acting strange. They very vaguely told me I needed to help them dispose of something. They climbed ...

The White House

Notes: I had some really elaborate dreams last night, but for some reason I can only recall details about the locations of each - I don't seem to have a clue about the plots or actual happenings in either dream. Foods Eaten: Salad covered in very spicy salsa. The Dream: It was night time, I was at what was a very large and elegant white house. There were three symmetrical octagonal areas at the front with large, full wall windows. Inside each of the three rooms were two tiered floors, decorated with lots of lovely fern plants. One of the areas had a hot tub on the second tier. I seem to remember both Derek and TJ being in the house. I also remember going semi-lucid at some point. I was fully aware that I was dreaming, but I remember trying to push or pull an object and being completely unable to. I even remember thinking to myself, "I'm dreaming, but why can't I interact?"

Because I'm Jealous!

Notes: Napping while the boyfriend works. Hadn't had one of these jealousy type dreams in a while. Foods Eaten: Eggs and kielbasa Dream Location: A sort of (?) run down gas station at the bottom of a hill surrounded by forest. The Dream: I had just driven up to a gas station in a truck. Derek and Bradley were with me, but meandered off somewhere else. I had parked at a fill up spot, but went inside the store instead. I walked to the employee only area of the shop, which was entirely run down and devoid of pretty much anything. Hearing voices at the store front, I walked to the register area, though I stayed out of sight. Two girls walked up to the counter, they said something, and I recall interacting with them, but I don't recall what the interaction was. As the girls walked out, Bradley walked in and said that we'd be carpooling in the truck up to the bar for the charity bike wash (my boyfriend does actually work at a bar and they were actually having a charity ...

The Yelling

Notes: Frustrated and paranoid. Wonderful. Foods Eaten: Taco Salad The Dream: I very clearly remember standing in an area with brick flooring outside. I'm pretty sure it was a plaza type area, and it was night out. The lighting was streetlights. Derek was standing pretty far away from me, and he was lividly angry with me and yelling at me. I don't remember why, but I remember the yelling stopping for a while and other events (that I don't remember) happening, then it returned to the exact same spot and he resumed yelling at me...

Island Fly-by

Notes: I had this one the other night, I woke up and remembered it vividly, but of course didn't write it down immediately and have since then forgotten anything more than the brief overview. The Dream: All I can recall was being in the air - I think I was inside of a helicopter or an airplane, but there were no obstructions from my aerial view. And the view was quite lovely, I distinctly recall seeing two islands surrounded by Caribbean blue waters. For some reason I recall the islands belonging to Japan, though I consciously know nothing about Japanese geography.

Good Luck

Notes: Another one I had a while ago and failed to transpose. Only details I remember are because of a text I sent to someone special. The Dream: I was standing in a mildly wooded area that was sort of the backyard of a house, which seemingly belonged to my parents (it was a familiar house in the dream, but I don't recognize any aspect of it in consciousness) . It was early evening out and there seemed to be a small get together going on at the house. I'm not sure what I was doing out in the woods, but an acquaintance of mine, Chris, suddenly appeared and approached me. He made small talk for a moment, but I zoned him out as I saw Derek walk out of the house. He took up conversation with some people that I didn't pay enough attention to to notice who they were, but I could see all of the silhouettes lit up as they were standing outside of a window. Chris was still trying to talk to me, I'm pretty sure he was making suggestive comments, but all of my attention was foc...

Curbstomp

Notes: I had this dream quite a while back and only vaguely remember it now. The Dream: I don't recall the surroundings or exact people aside from Derek. I saw someone through Derek to a paved surface with a curb, presumably in a parking lot. The group of people shoved his face against the curb and violently began to literally stomp on it. I was bawling, and yet somehow unable to interact with my surroundings to help.

The Loose Tooth

Notes:  After previous dream, and before waking up, I had this one. And don't read if you have a fear of losing teeth. Or don't like gross things. Even writing this grossed me out a little bit. Foods Eaten:  Pretzels dipped in aforementioned cream cheese buffalo crab dip. The Dream: (Previous dream was me waking up from a dream...)  I fell back "asleep" , in the same single bed in my old bedroom at the house I grew up in. I again, went into the state of half awake, half asleep. As I gained some level of consciousness, I felt some strangeness in my bottom left canine tooth. I pushed my tongue against it, only to realize the tooth was loose. Of course, this caused considerable raise for concern, and I got up to go find my mom so she could take me to a dentist. Even though I don't recall being able to justify what time of day it was, I "just knew" it was in the middle of the night, and chances of a dentist being open were low. As I talked to my mom, ...

Dreams of Mom

Notes: Apparently if you eat cream cheese buffalo crab dip 30 minutes before sleeping, you dream a lot. Holy crap. Three dreams I remembered in one night? Might be a record... Foods Eaten: Pretzels dipped in aforementioned cream cheese buffalo crab dip. The Dream: I was laying in a single bed in my old bedroom at the house I grew up in. It was night time, and presumably I was in that phase between sleep and awareness. My eyes were closed, but I was mildly aware of my surroundings - it was dark out, in the middle of the night, but there was a storm. Even with my eyes closed I could see flashes of light and I could hear thunder. Suddenly, my mom came upstairs and began speaking, which fully "woke" me up. I told her that I had been having a dream about her and that actually hearing her voice woke me up... Little did I know I was still actually asleep...

Seen in Public

Notes: The repetitively appearing deodorant element has me questioning my hygiene today. The Dream: I was in a house with an unfamiliar layout. I was standing on a platform area of a T-intersection of stairs (I could draw it, but no idea how to explain it with words...) . There were wide banister railings on them. At the top, there was a container of pear scented deodorant sitting on the banister (probably my subconscious imposing a dose of reality in there, seeing as I really do have a stick of deodorant on my banister right now) . I don't know why it caught my notice so much. I don't remember the upstairs layout, but I ended up in a bathroom. There were three more sticks of scented deodorants on the counter. Aimlessly, I walked back downstairs, and went down to the right at the T-intersection. As I did so, my ex, TJ, came walking out of a closet. He was wearing a large baggy shirt, and pulling a wife beater over the top of it. I laughed a little bit, as he looked so ridi...

Childhood Imagination

Notes:  Whoa. I didn't immediately remember this dream when I woke up, but it after recalling it it was kind of like meeting my inner child or something. The Dream: I was standing in the hallway of the basement of the house I grew up in/lived in for the vast majority of my life thus far. I was facing the room that had been my mom's office, and I walked into it. The room was arranged exactly as it had been when I lived there, down to the ratty old blue couch against the left wall. There were no lights on, but the computer on my mom's desk was emitting a soft glow making the room vaguely visible. I don't actually remember anyone else being in the basement with me, but I heard one of my family members say in a hushed panicked voice, "Hide! There is someone in the house!" Instinctively, I went to the closet that was in my mom's office. I quietly shut the door, but not quite all the way. As soon as I got in the closet I realized that I had picked the most ob...

You Are Sweet

Notes: Uh... I didn't seem to have any concept of time or order in this dream. I can recall "scenes" in detail, but I have no idea what sequence they happened in. Foods Eaten: Chai Tea The Dream: I was in a very dimly lit room. The wall to my right was lined with bookcases of varying heights. There were two other people in the room, but I'm unsure of who they were... and then there was Marilyn Manson standing on top of one of the shorter bookcases. He was dressed in his typical black, with large platform boots on. He had a pair of sunglasses on as well, and was holding a microphone. I don't really recall him "singing" but I do remember he became the focus of my dream, and he moved his face within inches of mine. His head was tilted down, so I could see his eyes peering at me over the sunglasses. He stared directly and said something in his raspy whisper voice, but I can't remember what he said. I remember it struck me as strange and I gave it a...

The Elaborate Staircase

Notes: I quite literally JUST woke up from this. I kept some odd sleeping hours yesterday/last night. More on that later. Foods Eaten: Uhh, I had some mixed nuts about 30 minutes before this nap. The Dream: I was walking around what appeared to be a large and pretty upscale hotel lobby. The entire interior was a deep sapphire blue color, and there was an elegant spiral staircase in the middle. I recall walking up the stairs and ending, then walking back down them and through the lobby again with my parents. Except this time someone called my name out from the stairwell. Looking up, a male, a familiar face that I can't seem to put a name to, made eye contact with me. He appeared to take off running down the stairs toward me, while I made my way back to the stairs to run up them to him. We must have missed each other and I got distracted by something else, as I ended up in a sort of break room type area. The left wall had a microwave and small fridge with a nice looking brown co...

The Wormhole

Notes: I'm beginning to think I suffer from mild depersonalization disorder, and every now and then I will have one of those days or moments of symptoms. Yesterday, my drive home from work randomly spurred one of those moments. For some reason, I suddenly felt as if I had fallen asleep while driving - crashed my car - and was either now living in some alternate reality where I HADN'T crashed my car, but I was dead in some parallel universe OR I was in a coma and dreaming about what would be happening if I hadn't crashed my car. It's a weird sensation, because even though you are completely aware that you are still alive and in reality, everything has a surreal feeling to it. So when I got home, I immediately went to be (6:30pm) to sleep the feeling away. The Dream: I was in my living room with my boss Casey and coworker Nadia. Nadia got a phone call from a member of the band Black Stone Cherry, who she was apparently in a relationship with. She walked out my backdoor...

Bubble Door

Notes: Pretty wasteful use of lucidity, but hey, I went lucid, so I guess that's an improvement. Foods Eaten: A scavenged mix of chocolate, mixed nuts and Parmesan cheese... The Dream: I was standing in a pretty desolate looking room. The floor was a light gray, and the walls were a darker shade of gray. The place appeared to have been completely ransacked... a clutter of broken items around the perimeter of the room. I walked around, occasionally taking a closer look at a particular grouping of broken items, but before long I heard a distant throaty rumble noise. At first I paid it no mind, but it quickly got louder and I thought to myself, "Is that a tornado?" Immediately I called out for my family, "Mom? Dad? Mel? Are you guys here?" Quickening my pace, I began to search the house, hollering up and down staircases trying to make sure my family was safe. I wasn't feeling overly panicked, but since I wasn't getting a response I came to the conclusi...

Affectionate Tears

Notes: This one seemed pretty random. The Dream: I was standing in a parking lot, near a car. A friend who is also a band member appeared near by and walked over to me. We engaged in conversation that I can't recall. I remember seeing a group of people in the distance - some that I could put a name to and some that seemed unfamiliar. I don't remember getting there, but the next thing I remember is laying on a bed with the friend. He was semi-propped up on a pillow and my head was on his chest. It seemed to be a somewhat affectionate moment, but he was crying quite heavily. I seem to remember wondering why, but I'm not sure if I asked or found the answer...

What are you doing?!

Notes: I swear I remembered more of this... I forgot to write it down earlier today. The Dream: I was standing in a wooded area. There was a four door car parked near us, though there was seemingly no road for it to have traveled on. Nate (an ex-boyfriend) was with me, as was my mother and an old friend, Leroy. The atmosphere seemed very lighthearted. Nate was chit-chatting with my mom and I was catching up with Leroy, but suddenly I noticed Nate kiss my mother on the neck. I stopped focusing on anything else and just watched for a moment. I wasn't feeling jealous or even angry, even as he kissed up her neck and got closer to her lips. When he finally started to go for a full on lip kiss however, it suddenly occurred to me that something was very weird and I interrupted by saying, "Hey! What are you doing?" (I notice in my waking state that this is a form of semi-lucidness, but I didn't get quite there...)  The way it came out was still quite casual and non-accusat...

Is That Real Fur?

Notes:  Glad my dream recollection seems to be quickly kicking back into gear now that I'm focusing on it again. This one really seemed to lack plot. Foods Eaten: Taco Casserole The Dream: I'm standing on a paved road, headed towards a house that is built into the side of a hill. I know this house belongs to an old friend, Tana. This is all I seem to recall about this portion of the dream... I've ended up headed down a longer paved road - it's kind of dark out and surrounded by forest. The road slopes steeply downward, and when I get to the bottom there is a large hill with a tall house built on top. Subconsciously, I know that this house belongs to my family and that we had just moved in. Again, this doesn't seem to have any further significance to the overall dream... Now I'm in a small room, set up to hold an audience for a performance. I take a seat in a fold out chair near the back of the room. The lighting in the room dims, but a few more people c...

I Can Leave

Notes:  Well, I've slacked off on my dreaming for the last year. It's weird to think that you can be "too busy" to dream, considering it's something you can do whether you're busy or not... But I've recently opened my lucid dreaming book back up and dream memory has slowly started working again. The Dream: I had just arrived at a house, with the knowledge that I was there to be celebrating a friend's return to freedom after serving time for three months. (There is some back story behind this, I met this guy and we really clicked... or so I thought (another long story)... but nothing committed happened because he was going to jail soon.) I was very excited about him being free, but when I walked in the house and he saw me, he made a face of absolute disgust and inquired as to who invited me. A guy standing near us said he did, even though I didn't recognize him. I could tell my friend didn't want me there and I said, "I can leave."...
