I want to be dreaming...

Notes: Been talking dreams with some people in the Evennia Discord recently and I believe the conversations caught up with me. Foods Eaten: Salad with southwest cauliflower bites, chai tea. The Dream: ...I don't remember exactly what was happening, just that it wasn't something wildly unbelievable and I intensely did not like whatever it was. (Part of me wants to say it was something like my dog dying...). Usually my brain defaults to "this has to be a dream", but I think because of the plausibility of whatever it was,  my dreaming brain said, "I want this to be a dream."  The thought did not cause anything to happen, I did not wake up, the scene did not change, and I was still stuck in the same situation. But, desperately not wanting it to be real, I continued telling myself, "I want this to be a dream," and proceeded to convince myself that it was.  Suddenly, I was shot back in time, to some average every day memory of life ten years ago. I was i...
Notes: Again... in a cereal coma. Foods Eaten: Cereal The Dream: I had just woken up, abruptly, from a dream. I had to use the bathroom, so I got out of bed, but I was so groggy I immediately fell to the floor. I was trying to shake the sleep state off, but I couldn't get my eyes to open more than a squint. All I could see was the bathroom walls, as I sat on the bedroom floor. I was in a semi-panicked state, trying to figure out what was wrong with me and simultaneously trying to recall what I had been dreaming about. It suddenly clicked... "This is a dream!" Everything went white around me. I took a deep breath and tried to stabilize the dreamstate, looking where the bathroom walls had been. I wanted them to come back so I could continue onward in the dream, but it wasn't happening. While I was in the lucid state, it turned more like semi-lucid. I became aware of my actual body and sounds around me, the dream state seemed confused. I was wondering if my actual...

Lucid Flying

Notes: Easily the most worthless lucid dream I've had, but it was the first time going lucid in a while and the dream didn't collapse, so that's a positive. Foods eaten: Quesadillas The Dream: ...I don't remember the surrounding context ...   I was flying around, hovering over some trees outside, when I suddenly came into a line of conscious thought: "I'm flying. Wait a second, how am I flying? Oh! I must be dreaming!"  Suddenly the surroundings drop into nothingness, now replaced by white. I'm still flying, but I see a person sitting on the ground. I land and walk over to them. Although I haven't managed to identify who they are and I make no effort to ask, my immediate thought in lucidity is to try and change them into someone else. I touch the person's shoulder while concentrating on thoughts of, "Turn into Trevor."  Nothing happens. I try a different person. "Turn into James."  Still nothing. "Turn into Martin....

Don't Eat Reese's Before Bed

Very often, the first thing that will come out of Derek's mouth in the morning is some nonsense that turns into a crazy dream plot, which in turn refreshes my dream memory. Last night, we both had some strange ones - to the point that we gave up on sleep... Foods Eaten: The last thing we ate before going to bed was this Reese's peanut butter bar dessert thing. I blame the peanut butter for the dreams that ensued. The Dream: I was sitting in my own living room, on my own computer. Derek was next to me, also on his computer. We were each doing our usual thing - game playing and internet browsing, and it appeared to be sometime late in the evening. I decided it was time to go to bed, and announced so to Derek. We both went upstairs, but upon reaching the top of the steps he pushed me to the ground in front of our washer and dryer. As I laid on my back, I looked up just in time to watch Derek slam his fist into my face, punching all my teeth out. Suddenly realizing I was dre...

The White House

Notes: I had some really elaborate dreams last night, but for some reason I can only recall details about the locations of each - I don't seem to have a clue about the plots or actual happenings in either dream. Foods Eaten: Salad covered in very spicy salsa. The Dream: It was night time, I was at what was a very large and elegant white house. There were three symmetrical octagonal areas at the front with large, full wall windows. Inside each of the three rooms were two tiered floors, decorated with lots of lovely fern plants. One of the areas had a hot tub on the second tier. I seem to remember both Derek and TJ being in the house. I also remember going semi-lucid at some point. I was fully aware that I was dreaming, but I remember trying to push or pull an object and being completely unable to. I even remember thinking to myself, "I'm dreaming, but why can't I interact?"

Childhood Imagination

Notes:  Whoa. I didn't immediately remember this dream when I woke up, but it after recalling it it was kind of like meeting my inner child or something. The Dream: I was standing in the hallway of the basement of the house I grew up in/lived in for the vast majority of my life thus far. I was facing the room that had been my mom's office, and I walked into it. The room was arranged exactly as it had been when I lived there, down to the ratty old blue couch against the left wall. There were no lights on, but the computer on my mom's desk was emitting a soft glow making the room vaguely visible. I don't actually remember anyone else being in the basement with me, but I heard one of my family members say in a hushed panicked voice, "Hide! There is someone in the house!" Instinctively, I went to the closet that was in my mom's office. I quietly shut the door, but not quite all the way. As soon as I got in the closet I realized that I had picked the most ob...

Bubble Door

Notes: Pretty wasteful use of lucidity, but hey, I went lucid, so I guess that's an improvement. Foods Eaten: A scavenged mix of chocolate, mixed nuts and Parmesan cheese... The Dream: I was standing in a pretty desolate looking room. The floor was a light gray, and the walls were a darker shade of gray. The place appeared to have been completely ransacked... a clutter of broken items around the perimeter of the room. I walked around, occasionally taking a closer look at a particular grouping of broken items, but before long I heard a distant throaty rumble noise. At first I paid it no mind, but it quickly got louder and I thought to myself, "Is that a tornado?" Immediately I called out for my family, "Mom? Dad? Mel? Are you guys here?" Quickening my pace, I began to search the house, hollering up and down staircases trying to make sure my family was safe. I wasn't feeling overly panicked, but since I wasn't getting a response I came to the conclusi...

Daily Deviation

Notes: This was kind of odd... not the dream itself, just the way it repeated itself. Foods Eaten: Spaghetti Dream Location: Sitting at a table somewhere outside The Dream: Back in real life, it was about 8:00am. I had just woken up to take my dog outside, I brought him back in and played with him for a minute, then made my rounds on my cell phone. After about 5 minutes, I put the phone down and went back to sleep... I was sitting at a wrought iron table, outside. It seemed to be a patio area of a restaurant or perhaps just a public seating area. Naturally, I was bored, so I pulled my cell phone out of my pocket. I opened up my deviantArt app, and when the page loaded, I noticed I had over 2000 messages waiting for me. I freaked out ecstatically, and opened them up to find that I had gotten a daily deviation. I tried to click on a link to the picture to find out what photo I had actually got the DD on, but nothing would go to the page. After a few minutes of clicking around, I ...

Mansion

Notes: When I woke up, I remembered a strangely large amount of detail from this dream. It was definitely one of my more vivid ones in a while, unfortunately I seem to have forgotten a bit of it since I failed to quickly transpose it. Foods Eaten: Chicken and broccoli Alfredo Dream Location: A very large and upscale version of our family friend, Lynn Wilson's house. The Dream: I don't remember where it started... but I was walking down a vast hallway. The ceilings were extremely high... something you would see in a castle. Everything seemed so elegant, the doorways were mahogany and nearly the height of the ceiling, and curved and pointed at the top... like what you might see on a church. The walls were half paneled and half covered in a tan and brown scroll patterned wallpaper. One of the doors to my left opened, and looking inside I saw a black and white tiled floor with restaurant tables and waiters walking around the room. There was a busboy collecting dis...

Allisnakor

Notes: My experiment of setting an alarm clock one hour before I need to get up seems to be giving actual results. I am having more and more lucid moments in my dreams, it would seem. Foods Eaten: Chicken Alfredo Dream Location: Not really sure The Dream: It was sort of in my old bedroom and sort of not, as it was outside. But there was teal carpet on the floor, like in the old bedroom. I was sitting on a futon that also was in that room. TJ was standing underneath what appeared to be some sort of shed with a porch. The porch had a structural support bar running horizontally under it. As I was examining it, I noticed a large patterned snake had coiled itself around it and was slowly migrating in TJ's direction. Knowing TJ doesn't like snakes, I told him "Uhh, TJ, you should move." He looked up and the snake was now in his face. It appeared to be a copperhead, and I could tell TJ was considerably concerned. He ended up moving next to me on the futon, but the sna...

Strange Lucidity

Notes: When I woke up, I didn't remember being lucid at first. It took me a few minutes before I suddenly realized I had gone lucid twice during the night, though I only remember one time. Somehow I am just positive that I had gone lucid again afterwards. Dream Location: A random room The Dream: I don't remember much, I remember being in a bedroom. There was a white ladder that lead up to what seemed like a loft bed. An old grade school friend, Val, was sitting on top of it. Somehow seeing Val triggered immediate lucidity, though I'm not sure how. My visions turned into a strange strobing white and black light, and I recall being slightly surprised by the lucidity. I remember wondering how I got into lucidness and I remember thinking about what I should do. Apparently I spent too long thinking instead of doing and accomplished nothing.

Take Cover in the House

Notes: ... Dream Location: My Front Yard The Dream: I don't recall much of this dream... I know I was in my front yard, and my dad was with me. There were bombs/explosives being dropped from the sky all around us, and when I looked up, there were hundreds of red UFOs. I knew I needed to head for cover, so I ran to our porch to go take cover in my house. As I turned the handle to go inside, I discovered the door was locked. I had my purse on me, which I started to dig through for my keys. As I was digging through it, another bomb exploded close to the porch. Somehow I came to the semi-realization that I must be dreaming, though I didn't seem to be fully in control. I just remember knowing that all I needed to do was get inside my house and I would be safe and the dream would end. As far as I know, I finally got in my house and that's exactly what happened.

Lucid with Matt Johnson

Notes: I was so excited I actually went lucid in this dream, even though... as usual, I couldn't manage to make anything cool happen. Dream Location: Somewhere random, outside. The Dream: I have no idea what was going on leading up to this, however I very distinctly remember standing across from an old friend (now murderer in jail...) , Matt Johnson. I'm not sure how it clicked, I think I thought something like, "Wait, Matt is in jail, am I dreaming?" After the thought that I might be dreaming, Matt's face turned into a smile in response, and then it clicked that I really was dreaming. I remember thinking "Oh cool! I'm actually having a lucid dream." I think I tried to ask Matt a question, though I'm not sure if he responded with anything other than a facial expression. And then my mind started wandering, eventually it came across the thought of what I have really been wanting to lucidly dream about for a while, but of course as I was c...

Lucid Tattoo

Notes: I had an excessive number of dreams last night, and amazingly remember them all. I'm going to say alcohol helped induce these. Foods Eaten: Can't remember what I had for dinner, but I had a snack of Jalapeno chips and a good number of rum and cokes... Dream Location: My bedroom. The Dream: I was laying on my bed in my room, though my bed wasn't in it's usual spot. TJ was in the room with me, standing near my door. He took off his shirt, then announced he'd be back in a second, presumably going to use the bathroom. As he turned to walk out the door, I saw his bare back, and noticed he had a tattoo on his right shoulder blade. It was very fine-artsy, inked in all black. It was a lighthouse with a landscape drawn in front, and to the right, was just a black box... like a small house for the lighthouse keeper or something. Examining the tattoo, it looked brand new, the skin around it red with irritation. I was puzzled, trying to figure out when and where T...

Lucid Driving

Notes: I don't remember terribly much about this one. Foods Eaten: Pasta, Salad Dream Location: On a road The Dream: I was in a car, driving along an empty road in the dead of night. It was drizzling rain out, which didn't bother me. But as I continued to drive, the rain got heavier, and I decided to turn on the windshield wipers. I flicked the switch, and noticed that I accidentally pushed it too far and had turned my windshield cleaner thing on. I moved the switch back, so that just the wipers were going. As I kept driving, I realized that even though I had turned the cleaner off, it was still spraying on my windshield, and it was spraying so much that between the rain and it, I couldn't see the road at all. I hit the switch a couple times again, frustratedly trying to turn it off... but every time I hit the switch it just kept coming out faster. And suddenly it kicked in that something wasn't right and I was dreaming... and unfortunately woke myself up.

Lucid Nothing

Notes: I'm simply going to write this entry as notes, because I either a) can't remember what was going on or b) just fell straight into a lucid dream without having a regular dream first. In either case, I was definitely lucid in two instances last night. I was standing, or perhaps floating, in endless pits of darkness. I could hear my thoughts, and I was consciously able to tell myself to move body parts, but no matter how hard I tried to summon up visual images, they would not come. I think in the second instance, my mind got distracted and I lost lucidity. In the first dream, I'm not sure what caused me to lose it. Foods Eaten:  Fettuccine Alfredo

Murderous Car

Notes: ... Foods Eaten: Mashed Potatoes & Ribs Dream Location: Not fully sure, inside a car at some point The Dream: I don't remember much in particular about this dream. I know the my co-worker Dan and his wife Lynn were there, and two of "his" kids were there - but the two kids were actually my cousins Mary Anne and Nate. At some point, we were in a car. Dan was driving, his wife in the passenger seat. I was in the middle of the back seat, with Mary Anne to my left and Nate to my right. I think we were trying to run away from something... like the end of the world maybe. I remember we stopped somewhere, everyone got out of the car. I think we were camping for a night. I'm not sure why, maybe I dropped something, but I ended up having to crawl underneath the car for whatever reason. When I got underneath it, the car started lowering itself, trapping me under it and then sealing itself to the road. I was struggling to find a way out, with no luck... a...

A Lotta Drama

Notes: This one was weird, like I was lucid without actually being lucid... Foods Eaten: Mashed Potatoes & Ribs Dream Location: My House and Some Restaurant The Dream: I was at my house, all was relatively normal looking. My parents were hanging out in the kitchen, I don't specifically recall my sister being there. I don't remember what conversation was going on, but my parents ended up getting into a fight. My mom was physically hurting my dad, slapping him and pushing him. I eventually stepped in, yelling at my mother to stop. Both my mom and dad resigned themselves from each other, glaring past me in furious anger, but allowing me to speak. I took most of my frustration with them out on my mother, yelling at her about how different she's been since her surgery last year (long story short out of dreamworld - she had a brain tumor). I told her that all of her personality traits had been emphasized, especially her stubbornness and attitude. She didn't respond...

First Intentional Lucid Dream

Notes: So, my boss bought me an awesome book about Lucid Dreaming as my Christmas present. I started reading it two nights ago - I barely got into the second chapter last night - and low and behold, I already had a lucid dream. The experience is pretty fascinating, so I'll probably have to be more narrative than I usually am with my dreams. Foods Eaten: Lemon Pepper Chicken Dream Location: Dirt path then Richard's Bedroom The Dream: I am walking along a dirt path, surrounded by lots of people. Everyone is smoking cigarettes, except for me. Lining the path are lots of vendor tables set up, with people selling tshirts, lighters, cds, and other assorted random objects. I stopped to look at something on one of the tables (don't remember what I was looking at), I quickly got distracted by the two women that were running the table. One of them was normal, but the other one was pregnant, and hanging out of her belly button was a lit cigarette. This struck me as strange, a...

Beyond Mindfuck

Notes: I have NO idea what provoked this dream. I cannot begin to express how badly it fucked with me - and as far as I know, it is only the second lucid dream I have ever had. If you can call it that. I'm going to try and italic this post up a bit so it will hopefully make more sense to the reader. TLDR; I had a lucid dream within a lucid dream. Foods Eaten: Subway and Eggnog (yummmm! I think this may be the culprit for this crazy dream.) Dream Location: Boyfriend's House... plus other various... The Dream: (It begins as a dream inside my dream) I am at my boyfriend's house, in the bedroom laying in bed, completely under the covers - head included. I feel something jump on top of me, it starts to claw gently into the covers on top of me and purr, and I realize that it's a cat. (The dream inside a dream becomes lucid) I suddenly notice that something is completely off - I'm not sure why there is a cat jumping on me, or who's cat it is, because my b...
